Participants in a picket against amendments to the Constitution were detained in Nizhny Novgorod

In Nizhny Novgorod, the police detained Yury Shaposhnikov, a participant in a one-man picket against amendments to the Constitution. Arkady Galker, chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Memorial, reports this.

The activist stood with a poster with the inscription "Reset completely" and the image of Vladimir Putin. He was taken to police department No. 5. A lawyer from OVD-Info, Aleksey Matasov, went to the detainee.

16:03 Together with Shaposhnikov, the police detained Elena Kladina. She was also taken to the 5th police department, where a lawyer from OVD-Info works.

16:36 Irina Cherpakova was detained at the same picket location, Arkady Galker told OVD-Info.

17:16 Shaposhnikov was released from the police department, having drawn up a report on violation of the rules for participation in a public event (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Information about the detention of Cherpakova was not confirmed, Arkady Galker told OVD-Info.

• On March 11, the State Duma approved the draft law on amendments to the Constitution, initiated by Vladimir Putin. Before that, the President supported the amendment of Deputy Valentina Tereshkova, who proposed to give the President the opportunity to run for two new terms after the adoption of amendments to the Constitution.
