“Perpetual Protest” activists suspected of vandalism were banned from certain actions

The Tverskoy District Court ordered the activists of Indefinite Protest, Olga Misik, Ivan Vorobyevsky and Igor Basharimov, suspected in the case of vandalism, to be banned from certain actions. Alla Frolova and Anna Romashchenko, coordinators of legal assistance at OVD-Info, report this.

The prosecution asked to send Basharimov to a pre-trial detention center, to place the rest of the defendants under house arrest.

The activists are suspected of vandalism committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code) in connection with an action near the Prosecutor General's Office: on the night of August 8, unknown people poured pink paint over the building of the department and hung out a banner.

The interests of the activists were represented by lawyers from OVD-Info Dmitry Zakhvatov, Sergey Telnov, Elena Sheremetyeva.

21:57 The information that the prosecution requested house arrest and pre-trial detention for the suspects was not confirmed, lawyer Elena Sheremetyeva said. The prosecutor's office asked that the activists be banned from certain actions.

As part of the preventive measure, until September 7, inclusive, the activists were forbidden to go outside from 17:00 to 9:00 without the written permission of the interrogating officer, to approach the buildings of state authorities by 10 meters, attend public events and use means of communication.

Igor Bashamirov also, within the framework of the ban, must be in Arkhangelsk, at the place of registration.

• On the morning of August 9, they came to the activists with searches. First, they searched Vorobyevsky's apartment, then Misik's dacha, where Basharimov was also located. The detainees were taken to the Tverskoy police department, interrogated and sent to a temporary detention center.
