A protocol was drawn up against environmental activist from Bashkortostan Zemfira Nabiullina under the article on organizing an uncoordinated action (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). This is reported by “Apology of Protest”.

An administrative case was opened due to an action in defense of forests on the Kushtau Shikhan, which took place at the foot of the mountain itself.

“Apology of Protest” emphasized that the requirements of the law on protests apply only to events taking place within the boundaries of populated areas.

On August 11, the Ishimbay City Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan arrested environmental activist Ruslan Nurtdinov for three days in connection with his participation in protests against deforestation on the Kushtau Shikhan.
Shikhan Kushtau is a small mountain in the Ishimbay region of Bashkortostan. Local activists have been fighting for several months against deforestation for the development of soda and limestone deposits in the territory of Kushtau. Starting in August, work in the protected natural area resumed . On August 6, about 10 activists protesting against logging were detained in Kushtau.
Activists advocate the preservation of natural monuments, the remaining shikhans of Toratau, Kushtau, Yuraktau. The previously existing shihan of Shakhtau was completely destroyed to obtain raw materials by the Bashkir Soda Company.
