Eco-activist camp dispersed in Kuzbass

In the village of Cheremza, Kemerovo region, a camp of environmental activists opposing the construction of a coal loading station at the Kuznetsky Yuzhny open-pit mine was dispersed. At the same time, three elderly residents of Cheremza were detained. This is reported by “Takiye Dela”.

Protocols were drawn up against the detained pensioners under the article on arbitrariness (19.1 of the Administrative Code).

“In the morning, equipment arrived there, and workers began building the fence. People stood near the erected pillars, trying to interfere with the workers. Then the builders called the police. The paddy wagons completely blocked the road to the camp; it was only possible to approach it on foot. It’s obvious that the interests of business and government are merging—otherwise why would riot police disperse 30 people, most of whom are women?” — environmental activist Shakin told Such Things.
