More than 1,750 Siberians with coronavirus died

The total number of people infected with coronavirus in the regions of Siberia exceeded 87 thousand. At least 1.75 thousand patients died.

The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus infection over the past day was 727. The total number of infected reached 87553, follows from the data of regional headquarters on August 14.

Over the past 24 hours, 20 people have died (five in the Omsk Region, four in the Altai Territory, three in the Novosibirsk Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, two each in the Tomsk and Irkutsk Regions, and one in Khakassia). In total, at least 1756 patients died in the regions of Siberia, according to Taiga.info.

Rosstat data shows that authorities do not always report coronavirus-related deaths. Most of all, the statistics could be underestimated in the Omsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions and Tuva.

In Russia, more than 912.8 thousand infected, 15498 patients died, about 722.9 thousand people recovered. In terms of incidence of coronavirus, Russia ranks fourth, behind the United States, Brazil and India.
