Lukashenko turned to the participants of the pro -government rally with the words "I knelt"

On Sunday, President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, came to a thousands of supporters at the Government House in Minsk. The president was met by applause, TASS correspondent reports.

“Thank you for coming,” the president said. “Thank you for ending a person from the province for a quarter century.”

Lukashenko said that he called the supporters to the rally not in order to “protect” him, but to be able to protect his country. He admitted that he did not want to call the audience in the square.

“I don’t want to call you to this square, you have a lot to do, you clean the bread, you must prepare the kids for school. I remember the 90s, there were people with pots, workers, asked to eat, asked to feed the children. I am not a supporter of rallies, but, alas, this is not my fault that I had to call you to help,” the president said.

“Look around: tanks, take -off airplanes of 15 minutes from our borders. And this is not in vain! NATO troops clang out caterpillars at our gate. There is an increase in military power near the western borders,” Lukashenko noted, adding that Belarus should not become a “recent place” for Europe.

Lukashenko opposed repeated elections. According to him, in this case, the country "will break into a corkscrew and die as a state." “If we appoint new elections, we will plunge into the swamp, never get out, we will turn the country over,” he added. According to him, if Belarusians want reforms, "the authorities will start them tomorrow."

"Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and, unfortunately, our native Ukraine and its leadership order us to hold new elections. If only we go to them, we will break into a corkscrew and will never stabilize our air ship. We will die as a state, as a people, as a nation," he added.

He believes that the elections took place. “There can be no more than 80% falsification! It cannot be! ... Who will hold (new - ed.) Elections? Who will go to these elections? Bandits and urki!” Lukashenko said.

Lukashenko also called on opponents of the authorities not to touch the journalists of the state media and their family. “God forbid something will happen, answer in full,” the president said.

The Belarusian leader said that he did not give rise to cruelty on the streets, but the opposition, and turned to his opponents with an appeal not to “not scare” the military. “You play with fire,” he warned.

He also commented on calls to resign. “They shout to me -“ go away! ”. Not a question! Not a question, not a question! But they will kill and tear us and our children! Remember this,” the president said.

The Belarusian president at the end of his speech said that he was on his knees for the first time in his life. “Thank you so much for showing you that you are the owners of this country, this capital. They will remember this for a long time. I kneel down in front of you for the first time in my life,” he said, but did not stand up, but simply moved to another microphone.

Last night, the pro -government public organization "White Rus'" announced the holding in Minsk, on the Independence Square of the peaceful "rally of solidarity" in support of Lukashenko at the Government House on Independence Square, TASS reports.

"It will gather the forces supporting the state course. All those who are dear to the Motherland, who are against the division of the country into two opposing camps. In general, all constructive Belarus will gather at the rally," the organization said in Facebook.

Visually, about two thousand participants in the action gathered on Independence Square in front of the government’s house, hold official red-green symbols, chant "for the dad", "for Belarus." The venue of the action is cordoned off by security forces.

A tribune is installed near the Government House. The speakers of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova and the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko came here.

The beginning of the event was postponed for a long time.

Employees of budget organizations, according to TUT.BY, are forced to participate in the event. "Some manage to refuse for one reason or another, but some are not, because they are threatened with dismissal. People are afraid that provocations can be committed," the newspaper writes.

After noon, the presidential motorcade arrived at the government house in Minsk, where a rally should begin in support of Alexander Lukashenko. However, there was no presidential standard on the limousine in the motorcade, so that, perhaps, Lukashenko himself was not inside. In addition, there were fewer escort machines than usual. The situation in the square is calm, the arrival of most of the rally participants is expected closer to its beginning.

Transport vehicles of riot police and autosaks also arrive at the government house in Independence Square.
