Judge Golysheva will consider the complaint about Katelevsky’s detention; she taught the police how to properly detain and “not be afraid” of a blogger

The complaint about the new detention of Moscow region blogger Yan Katelevsky will be considered by the judge of the Ramensky City Court Olga Golysheva, the blogger’s lawyer Olga Balabanova told Mediazona.

Earlier today, the Lyubertsy City Court decided to release Katelevsky from custody in the case of damage to property (Article 167 of the Criminal Code) and place him under house arrest, but almost immediately after this, security forces detained him in the courthouse. Katelevsky and his lawyers were told that he would be taken to the detention center to familiarize himself with the materials in another case, about extortion (Article 163 of the Criminal Code), for which the blogger was also a suspect, and earlier, as part of this case, he was given a written undertaking not to leave.

“We filed several complaints through the electronic system, one of them to the Ramensky Court, we are appealing two things: the investigator’s decision to immediately bring him in and demand his release, and we are appealing the illegal actions of the CSS officers and the Rosgvardia employees who actually detained him. I called the Ramensky court to make sure that the application had been submitted and preparations were underway for consideration. I was informed that the case will be considered by Judge Golysheva,” says Balabanova.

Judge Golysheva gained fame in 2016 after the publication of an audio recording of her conversation with police officers, in which they discussed the planned arrest of Katelevsky. In the recording, the judge teaches police officers how to properly detain and process paperwork, pointing out that the case file is “very bad.” “You can’t be afraid of them. Do you see how he sits? Lounged, feet on a chair... Actually, I got what I wanted,” Golysheva also advises.

Subsequently, after the end of the administrative arrest, the decision on punishment was canceled.
