Open Russia coordinator was fined for tweeting about a solidarity rally at the Belarusian Embassy

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow fined Open Russia coordinator Tatyana Usmanova 30 thousand rubles for a tweet about a solidarity rally at the Belarusian Embassy. This was reported in the movement’s Telegram channel.

Yesterday afternoon, Usmanova was stopped on Leningradsky Prospekt by officers of the 2nd operational police regiment. Without allowing her to park her car, she was taken in a paddy wagon to the Basmanny District police station, where she was left overnight.

A protocol was drawn up against Usmanova for carrying out an uncoordinated action (Part 2, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) because of a tweet dated August 15, where she wrote that she would come to the building of the Belarusian Embassy on Maroseyka that day. Then several hundred women lined up in a chain of solidarity and stretched a white ribbon along the entire chain.
