The Supreme Court recognized AUE as an extremist organization

The Supreme Court granted the request of the Prosecutor General's Office to recognize AUE as an extremist organization. Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.

Now AUE is prohibited in Russia. The meeting was held behind closed doors.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, we are talking about a “youth movement of extremist orientation” AUE - “Prisoner Criminal Unity”. “Within the framework of the movement and in its interests, AUE members committed extremist offenses, as well as mass riots,” the department claims. In the same release, AUE is called an “international social movement.”

Previously, a court in Voronezh declared the “informal criminalized youth movement AUE” a threat to the constitutional order. The court decision indicated that AUE stands for “Prisoner Urkagan Unity”; the interpretation “Prisoner’s way of life is one” is also found. The movement “promotes the philosophy of thieves in law and prison concepts, placing them above the legislation of the Russian Federation,” the court decision said.

Courts in different regions, at the request of the prosecutor's office, also closed public pages whose names included the abbreviation AUE.
