The court recognized the decision to compulsorily treat shaman Gabyshev as legal

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Sakha upheld the decision of the lower court on the forced hospitalization of the Yakut shaman Alexander Gabyshev and refused to satisfy the complaint of his defense. This was reported by MBKh-media with reference to the coordinator of the Human Rights Postcard Alexei Pryanishnikov.

According to Pryanishnikov, the defense stated that it was unacceptable to consider the expert opinions of the Yakut Republican Psychoneurological Dispensary as evidence, since the dispensary was one of the parties in the case considered by the court. Gabyshev himself complains of constant drowsiness and lethargy after discharge.

Alexander Gabyshev was treated at the Yakut Republican Psychoneurological Dispensary from May 13 to July 22, 2020. On May 12, he was detained by OMON officers, the next day he was placed in the PND observatory, there was no communication with him for about a week.

The defense filed a lawsuit over the illegality of the hospitalization on May 28. The next day, Gabyshev refused to continue his stay in the dispensary, but the medical commission issued a conclusion about his danger to others and went to court, indicating that Gabyshev had been there voluntarily until that moment. On June 2, the Yakutsk City Court ruled on his involuntary hospitalization, which the defense appealed.

On July 21, at the request of the defense, a psychological and psychiatric examination was carried out at the dispensary, and following the results of the meeting of the medical commission on July 22, Gabyshev was discharged .
