Personal doctor of Navalny Yaroslav Ashkhmin assesses the decision of the Omsk doctors not to let his patient abroad (with the clarification of the political scientist Gleb Pavlovsky)

-This morning, a press conference of Omsk doctors took place, at which they said that the poisoning of Alexei Navalny was not only a non-priority version, but also almost impossible, since they did not find any traces in urine or blood tests. How much can this data be trusted?

- And what can it be then, excuse me? In a person who is completely healthy, neurological and common symptoms begins out of the blue. There are no torn vessels in his body, there are no hemorrhages. In this case, open our eyes to us, tell us about some rare disease, which in this way proceeds. This is how aneurysm can flow, but MSCT and MRI, as I understand it, made Navalny - and there is nothing like that there.

- How to assess the situation that yesterday the question was resolved with the transfer of Navalny to Europe, and everything is almost ready, and today the doctors sharply revealed?

“I think this is fear.” It is very bad when the doctor turns into a jerk. The hospital is not a prison, you know? And doctors, when they go to medicine, often understand that health, power and politics in Russia often go next to each other. Health problems sometimes lie outside the human body - and the doctor must decide what to do in such a situation. After all, we cannot now restore the chain of events: who, to whom and how did he call, or the doctors themselves were frightened. But now there is not a single logical explanation why the patient cannot be released when a plane with a high -class doctors' team has already arrived behind him.

- One of the explanations - supposedly doctors are afraid of pressure drops in flight.

- This is nonsense. A person will be on the apparatus of artificial ventilation of the lungs, and the mode of his work will just be selected depending on the pressure - intrathoracic and in the plane. Just due to the fact that Navalny on Ivl, there should be no problems unlike a conditional situation if it flew by an ordinary plane, where the atmosphere is more rarefied. With the same success, doctors could say that the astronauts should not be released on the ISS, because there are pressure drops. Well, yes, only actually a spacesuit can be put on.

-How to solve the medical and legal collision with the fact that there is federal law No. 323, according to which relatives can only dispose of the patient’s movements only if he is a minor, and otherwise the patient himself had to think ahead of time to whom he would transfer the authority to transport himself? Is there another norm that would allow Navalny’s family to say to doctors: no, that's all, we take him, you have no right to keep him?

- exactly the accented and intelligible position of relatives is needed. As a rule, doctors listen to relatives. But there is a conflict - and it has not gone anywhere: we cannot hear the opinions of Navalny himself, and it is also impossible to deny free will. Suddenly, Alexei would like to be treated here? What to do about it is not very clear.

-I’ll ask in a different way: is it possible to solve the problem that Navalny is not released abroad for treatment, non-building?

- Don't think. I’m afraid, here you need to pray to the king-father so that he pardon and let go.

- So they “prayed” yesterday.

-I'm afraid that some “Archangel Gabriel” should fly here to the head doctor of the Omsk BSMP with a request to release the patient in the name of the Lord God. But we understand that [if doctors agree to let Navalny let go] - this will be a riot in fact.

- Judging by the photo from Twitter, Kira Yarmysh, three “archangels” in civilian clothes are sitting in the office of the head physician of the BSMP.

- Well, what can we talk about then? (Laughs sadly) This is all fear. But sometimes, of course, people rebel against all this. Although the situation is very difficult.

- How did you arise with a plane from Germany?

- More precisely, Leonid Volkov will say, but, as I understand it, there were many such proposals on one and the other side. Both Germany and France offered their services in treatment. The help of a helping hand is ready to stretch. The problem is different. The doctors of the Omsk hospital at some point had to accomplish a feat. You can be a very qualified physician, but at some point you still have to transfer the patient to another level so that he survives. We need an internal rod to just say: it was not we could not cope, it will be better there to the patient. In Germany, there are world -class centers that treat such conditions much better than those who, with all due respect to competence - cannot formulate an accurate diagnosis for so long.

- The fact that Emmanuel Macron and Angel Merkel personally spoke about the situation with Navalny yesterday, now helps or interferes more?

- I don't know, this is a political question. It seems that in this case it is better to ask Gleb Pavlovsky ( laughs sadly ).

—Ah the legal system in the field of medicine practically deprives the rights of the patient and his relatives, that is, they cannot strictly demand transfer to another hospital at their own choice. The only thing that is possible in this case is political pressure. I have no doubt that Alexei is kept in the hospital for political reasons. There can be no excess pressure, only it can help overcome isolation in Omsk. Yes, in Russia they do not like outside pressure. But now it is not the case when you can sow long intrigues in order to convince power - during this time a person can simply die. Now you need to put pressure from all sides in order to let Navalny go to Germany.

- If they do not want to let Navalny go into Europe, does it make sense to ask then to transport him at least to Moscow?

- I think this option is much better in any case than to leave it in the Omsk hospital. But the trouble is that in Russia, in many areas of activity, experts have a very strong effect of Dinging Cruiger, when people are unable to admit their mistakes due to their own low qualifications. In parallel, the symptom is the complete rejection and rejection of this effect, as well as the inability to see where your own competence ends. Unfortunately, this is found in medicine.
