In 1888, the wealthy nobleman Peter Vedenisov, after the end of the Moscow Conservatory, came to Yalta and, being a sociable and fascinated person, soon became one of the most interesting people in the city. Later, he makes friendship with Anton Chekhov, Maxim Gorky, Alexander Glazunov and Fedor Shalyapin. In Crimea, he spends musical evenings, gives lectures on local history, and also engages in meteorology.

In the period from 1909 to 1914, he is seriously fond of photography, in particular - mastering the world's first technology of color photography, patented at the beginning of the 20th century by the Lumier brothers.
