In Belarus on Sunday, August 23, the "March of New Belarus" is held. Promotions against the results of the presidential elections and cruelty of the police are planned in Minsk and other cities of the republic. According to preliminary data, at least 100 thousand people take part in the demonstration in the Belarusian capital.

In the morning, columns of workers of the Minsk enterprises advanced to the venue of the action in the center of the Belarusian capital.

According to Interfax , people went to the roadway next to Gum, near the Oktyabrskaya metro station, and continue to move towards Independence Square. According to preliminary estimates, the number of participants in the action is already several tens of thousands of people.

People in the square chant "freedom!", "Go away!" and "Lukashenko in Autosak".

Some of the protesters reached the Palace of Independence - the working residence of the President of Belarus. As the correspondent of the Interfax agency reported, the protesters stopped a few tens of meters from the cordon, exposed by security forces all over the width of the avenue. Eyewitnesses reported that a helicopter was on the territory of the Independence Palace of Independence.

Meanwhile, on the Victory Square in the center of Minsk, in addition to law enforcement officers, military personnel lined up. They are dressed in camouflage form and body armor, armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles, on their heads, they have helmets on their faces.

The military also cordoned off the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in the center of Minsk. Along the perimeter around the museum, metal fences, several hundred military were lined up in the chain. They are equipped in body armor, helmets, each military man has a Kalashnikov machine with him. In the park, several dozen military trucks are parked next to the museum, parking near the museum is prohibited.

According to the Nexta Telegram channel, crowds of protesters still continue to go to Independence Square from different areas of the city. Then it is assumed that they will march along Independence Avenue.

The authorities of the Belarusian State University, which is located on the square, established the battery of megaphones, the RBC correspondent reports. Every few minutes they broadcast the call to disperse, indicating that force will be applied otherwise.

On the part of the Pedagogical Institute, there are dozens of units of military and special equipment, including waterlets, a correspondent reports. Also, a large number of military men are on all approaches to the square.

In the evening, protesters left the Independence Palace in Minsk.

On August 23, residents of not only Minsk, but also in other major cities of Belarus, went to a peaceful protest against the falsification of elections. In Grodno, despite the numerous warning of the police about the illegality of the event, protesters in Grodno massively went out into the streets, lined up in a long column and passed from Sovetskaya Square to Lenin Square. More than ten thousand people gathered on it. The participants of the action were kneeling when the words of the prayer "Our Father" were heard from the rostrum.

At least 10 thousand people gathered on the square in Grodno. Locals came to Lenin Square, where they organized an impromptu rally. There is no sound technique here, but someone brought a megaphone. Police officers stood in the distance and watched what was happening in the square.

Residents of Vitebsk gathered at the pyramid in the city center, they constantly clapped. Cars were signible. There was no police. The resuscitation passed by, supported people with special signals. The townspeople chant: "Vitebsk, come out!" The river of people practically filled the entire rise from the Square of Freedom to the hostel

In Brest, several hundred people, despite the rain, gathered on Lenin Square and ul. Pushkinskaya.

In Vitebsk, about 200 people came to Victory Square. The police asked them to disperse and they went on a procession along Lenin Street. Later, the number of protesters increased to 3 thousand people. A lot of people joined while the protesters stood near the Marco City shopping center, then they went along Frunze Avenue.

In Bobruisk, a column of about 200 citizens went for a walk around the city, chanting "Live Belarus!" Police officers were on duty around the perimeter of the central square, but they did not interfere in the action. In Mozyr, the rally was held on Lenin Square. In the center, a large poster was installed with the inscription "Enough to be afraid!" Opposite the rally on Lenin Square, two cars with the police were on duty. This did not prevent passing by the signaling in solidarity.

In Gomel, about two thousand protesters gathered at the theater and in Near - in the square of Kirill Turovsky.

It is also reported about the protest in Zhodino, where the BelAZ career dump trucks are collected.

The action of solidarity with the protesting Belarusians "The Path of Freedom" took place on Sunday in neighboring Lithuania - on the anniversary of the Baltic Way, when on August 23, 1989 more than a million stood a living chain from Vilnius to Tallinn. This Sunday, about 50 thousand people stood a live chain from the center of Vilnius to the border with Belarus. This is about 32 kilometers.
