Sobyanin admitted that coronavirus in Moscow is not retreating

Koronavirus in Moscow is not retreating, and it will take more than one month to wait for general vaccination, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Saturday in an interview with the “Week in the City” program on the Russia-1 channel on Sunday.

“The situation is good in terms of its stability, because we revealed almost the whole city. We did not see some kind of surge in incidence. On the other hand, about 700 cases are detected every day every day. And from 300 to 400 people are hospitalized,” Interfax quotes the words of Sobyanin.

He continued: “What is this mean? This suggests that the problem remains at least to vaccination. I mean vaccination from coronavirus, complete, massive. All the same, it will be necessary to beware and take measures corresponding.”

According to Sobyanin, mass vaccination is still far away.

“Months and months will pass, despite the fact that the vaccine is registered. There will be post -storage studies, they will be launched into civilian circulation at first small batches. Anyway, this is incomparable with how much we vaccinate from influenza,” he added.

It should be noted that on August 13, the Moscow mayor said that there will be no large-scale celebration of the City Day in Moscow because of the coronavirus. At the same time, he, however, added that he has not yet seen the reasons for returning to the self -isolation mode, and called the assumptions about the new quarantine in the fall. In the city hall, he added, there was a desire to spend the city day full -scale, but the situation does not have this. Mass events will be limited, and the holiday itself is "localized."

In early August, reports appeared in social networks and the media that in mid -September, after a single vote on September 13, tough antiviral measures would again be introduced in Moscow. On August 6, the source of Interfax denied these assumptions.

In total, in Moscow, as of August 23, more than 256 thousand people infected coronavirus, more than 203 thousand recovered, 4.7 thousand people died.

On August 18, the Levada Center website published the results of the survey, which it follows that almost half of the Muscovites refers to the mayor Sergei Sobyanin positively, but for the first time a serious reduction in positive assessments and a double increase in negative assessments were recorded with respect to him.

45% of Muscovites relate to the mayor of Moscow positively, 24% is negative, which is the largest indicator for the entire measurement time since 2011. A year ago, Sobyanin had maximum support for Muscovites - 57% were positive about him, only 12% had a negative attitude.

Among the main problems of the city, Muscovites are called a large number of visitors and migrants (30%), traffic jams and livelines (27%), prices and a drop in living standards (24%), poor environmental situation (17%) and health problems (13%). 69% of Muscovites relate to the improvement of the city rather positively, 28% are negative. The introduction of a bandwidth for the time of quarantine in Moscow approved 54%, 44% - no. 55% of Muscovites were not approved by the stop of most enterprises and only 39% appreciated positively.

In Russia, according to the Federal Operational Headquarters to combat coronavirus, 951,897 cases of infection were registered, 767,477 people recovered, 16,310 died.
