Minsk hosts the thousands of opponents of Lukashenko

In Minsk, on Sunday, the opposition’s thousands of opposition marks are taking place, the protesters demand the resignation of President Alexander Lukashenko, freedom for all detainees and political prisoners, as well as trials over guilty of torture and murders. Protesters began to gather on Independence Square around noon, the columns of the promotion participants continue to flock to the center of Minsk from all over the city. People chant “live Belarus” and “leave”, hold posters and flags of Belarus. At 15.30, a minute of silence was declared on the square in memory of the dead during the protests. At 16.00, participants in the action plan to move in a single column along the streets of Minsk.

The police have not yet prevented the march, although auto -zats, police officers and the military gathered to the square. They are concentrated mainly not on the squares, but in the alleys and in the yards, they note “open media”. The passages to the square were not blocked, but several metro stations and some shopping centers were closed. Traffic police officers checked almost all cars at the entrance to the city, reports the Nexta Telegram channel.

Sunday protests are held in other cities of Belarus, for example, in Mogilev, Grodno, Brest and many others. The police do not disperse the protesters, only in Mogilev people tried to push the Soviets from the house, but the participants in the action returned back. In Gomel, police officers shoot protesters on the camera and ask to disperse.
