Russian oppositionist Alexei Navalny was influenced by a toxic substance from the group of cholinsterase inhibitors. This was announced on Monday by the Berlin Clinic "Shashit", where Navalny undergoes treatment.
The message is published on the clinic website. It states that "clinical data indicate intoxication to a substance from a group of active substances called cholinerase inhibitors." The specific substance is still unknown. The message emphasizes that the presence of cholinerase inhibitor in the body has been proven several times in independent laboratories.
"According to the diagnosis, the patient is prescribed an antipene antidote. The outcome of the disease remains unclear, and long -term consequences cannot be excluded, especially in the nervous system," the report said. It also says that Navalny is still in intensive care in an artificial coma, but at present there is no serious danger to his life.
Holinesturasa inhibitors (IE) is a class of chemicals that slow down the effects of the enzyme acetylcholinersterase. This enzyme serves to destroy the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, the substances responsible for the transmission of nerve impulses. Accordingly, the IEE cause an excess of acetylcholine, which leads to a violation of the functions of the nervous system and, in particular, the brain. This property of IEE underlies the use of chemical compounds of this class as combat poisonous substances - in particular, Zarin, Zoman, V -gazes and substances of the Novichok type include, one of which was used to attempt on Sergey and Julia Skripal. At the same time, IEE are used as drugs, for example, for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, the course of which is associated with a lack of acetylcholine. EIE poisoning can lead to irreversible consequences. In particular, one of the creators of the Novice Andrei Zheleznyakov accidentally poisoned the small number of Novice-5 due to a fan breakdown in 1987. Zheleznyakov felt nausea, he began bright hallucinations. The scientist who lost consciousness was urgently taken to the Sklifosovsky Institute of Emergency. For more than a week, Zheleznyakov spent in the hospital on the verge of life and death, in the next six months he could not walk, suffered from depression and inability to concentrate, could not even read. He never returned to work and, completely unnoticed by poisoning, died in 1993.
Navalny felt poorly on the morning of August 20 on the Tomsk - Moscow Airpan. He spent two days in intensive care in Omsk, where the plane made an emergency landing. On Saturday morning, he was transported to Berlin. The associates of Navalny from the very beginning claimed that the opposition was poisoned; The doctors who treated him in Omsk declared metabolic disorders, not calling its causes.
