In Yaroslavl, the arrest of a person accused of inciting hatred against security forces was extended

The Zavolzhsky District Court extended for a month the arrest of Vitaly Dryzhenko, accused of inciting hatred against law enforcement officers (part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) and calls for extremist activities (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the head of the international human rights group "Agora" Pavel Chikov.

Vitaly Dryzhenko was arrested on July 29, 2020. Prior to this, the security forces came to his house without a search warrant, then they summoned him for interrogations. The reason for initiating a criminal case was the video posted on YouTube and posts on VKontakte. In them, according to the investigation, the activist called for the overthrow of the constitutional order and the use of violence against employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

• Vitaly Dryzhenko is a civil activist from Yaroslavl. He was a follower of Maxim "Tesak" Martsinkevich, fought against drug use and pedophilia in the city. In 2015, he was sentenced to a year in a colony-settlement under articles on beatings (Article 116 of the Criminal Code), illegal entry into a dwelling (Article 139 of the Criminal Code), incitement of hatred (Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code) and incitement to violence (Part 2 of Art. 2 article 280 of the Criminal Code).
