Behind the scars there is always a story. At the age of 19, I lost loved ones and relatives to me and now I understand that many of those whose scars are not visible outside have something no less deep inside. Everyone has scars - but those who are noticeable come across an unpleasant curiosity of others and often with their rejection.
They say that scars adorn men, but what then do women do? It is more difficult for them to see their own beauty and uniqueness and accept their body as it is.
During the shooting, the heroines of my project and I talked a lot about how they had scars. Someone joked and laughed at a stupid combination of circumstances, someone cried and experienced a rebuilding minute. Some said that scars are a lesson that gave them life, others - that the punishment for ridiculous mistakes.
Shramov should not be shy or hate: they show that the past actually existed, no matter how difficult it may be. These are healing wounds, and they no longer hurt. They just eat. They taught my heroines a lot and remained with them as a memory. They give exceptional beauty to the female body.
Behind the scars there is always a story. And history cannot be rewritten.
Natalia Photo: Lena Altshul“It was our usual Russian suburbs. Then - infection and operating table. To be honest, I was very afraid of amputation, so that, one might say, I got off with a slight fright.
Sometimes on the beach or in the pool people looked very closely at my leg - and this caused terrible discomfort. I thought about plastic or tattoo to make a scar more aesthetic.
But then I accepted it: this is my feature! My husband says: "You will definitely not confuse you with anyone."
Nadezhda photo: Lena Altshul“I have a congenital heart disease. The operation was done when I was 11: my mother was rebuilt. It was possible to make a cut under the edge, but the chest was torn. I'm still not sure if I needed this operation.
Then I bought a motorcycle. There were no accidents, I gradually dared and began to ride without protection. The jeep did not notice me. A strong blow to the side - the collarbone crumbled to smithereens.
I always tried to hide my scars and lived with this complex for a very long time. ”
Sasha photo: Lena Altshul“The body is my instrument. I was professionally engaged in dancing. And also - snowboard.
She fell four days before leaving home: she lost consciousness, a closed fracture, fragmented bone. And here I am in a French hospital, where no one speaks even in English. It was endless pain and fear.
I was engaged in a step, so after returning I could continue to dance.
And by the way, the French were beautifully sewn up. ”
Agatha photo: Lena Altshul“I was seven. There was a repair in the house, and building materials were lying in the courtyard. I wandered down the street, stumbled and fell onto the cement column, from which the reinforcement stuck. I began to cry only when I saw that the whole hand was dispersed. I still remember this white fat layer.
I grew up with my scars. Now I don’t even notice him. ”
Anastasia photo: Lena Altshul“This is the third scar in the same place, so it does not bother me at all.
After giving birth, I needed an operation: I had diastasis. Internal organs are omitted from it, which leads to various unpleasant consequences. The scar could, of course, be smaller, but I decided to combine: remove diastasis and make myself a flat beautiful stomach. Everything turned out fine. "
Tatyana photo: Lena Altshul“At the age of 13, my stomach fell ill. It turned out to be appendicitis. Cut. But was it really impossible to sew more accurately? They saw that a young girl. They made a tip-lip, like all the grandmothers with whom I later lay in the ward.
Now I practically do not notice my scar. But before, of course, I was very shy and hid him. ”
