Russia, at the request of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, formed a reserve from law enforcement officials, but it will not yet be used. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Sergey Brilev on the Russia-1 television channel.

"Alexander Grigoryevich asked me to form a certain reserve from law enforcement officers. And I did it. But we also agreed that it would not be used until the situation gets out of control," the president said. He explained that the reserve was formed in accordance with the obligations of Moscow in the field of security.

“We also agreed that it will not be used until the situation gets out of control and until extremist elements, hiding behind political slogans, will not go on a certain border, will simply begin to rob the cars, houses, banks, try to capture administrative buildings and so on,” Putin said.

“Now there is no need for this help yet - there is hope that it will not be,” he said, noting that Russia comes from a peaceful solution to all problems in Belarus and generally behaves more restrained and neutral than Europeans and Americans.

On August 22, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, Viktor Krenin, warned the president of the country Alexander Lukashenko about the threat of overthrowing the forces of the North Atlantic Alliance. According to the minister, "the destructive forces supervised by the special services of Western countries" can penetrate into Belarus "by seeping across the western border." At the same time, the actions of the security forces subordinate to Lukashenko in the West will be served as the "genocide of the Belarusian people."

The day before, the president himself warned of the threat of external invasion of the western border in order to "cut off" the Grodno region. “We cannot joke. Moreover, these are not weak troops - NATO. Therefore, I warned the President of Russia about the situation that is developing in Belarus. We have complete understanding, we have an agreement corresponding to the CSTO and the Union State,” Lukashenko said.

In addition, as part of the Army 2020 forum, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus signed several contracts for the purchase of Russian military equipment . Also, a plan was signed with the Almaz-Antey concern for the supply of modern air defense systems until 2025. The amount of contracts is not called.

"During the forum ... a number of mutually beneficial contracts for the supply, repair and maintenance of military products for the needs of the Armed Forces were signed, the main of which were: the contract for the supply of two battalion sets of BTR-82A production of the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant PJSC; a contract for the supply of the first batch of four Mi-35M helicopters," the Belarusian military department said.
