A Magnitogorsk pensioner received a third visit from the police after a rally in support of Furgal

Police officers in Magnitogorsk bring subpoenas and summon local pensioner Elena Arkhipova, who a month ago took part in a rally in support of the protesters of Khabarovsk, to the department. Arkhipova herself told OVD-Info about this.

The action took place about a month ago at the Chimes (People's Festival Square). Before that, Arkhipova reposted a post on VKontakte about this action. On the same day, a warning was brought to her home about the inadmissibility of participating in uncoordinated actions.

The meeting itself gathered, according to the pensioner, about ten people. Some of them were holding posters, Arkhipova had no poster. Some time later, about five people came to her house, including policemen and people without uniforms, who wanted to take an explanation from her about participating in the action.

The last time, on August 27, a district police officer came to Arkhipova, who tried to hand her a summons to the police. She refuses to open the door to law enforcement officers and take any subpoenas. The woman does not know if she is charged with any offense, but during a previous conversation with the police she was told that she allegedly organized the action, as she reposted a publication about it.

“Young healthy men walk around and press the pensioner for being on the Chimes for half an hour. No posters, no calls. What kind of organizer am I? I am a disabled pensioner, I can hardly walk around the house. Nevertheless, they clung to me, ”says Arkhipova.

  • Since July 11, residents of the Khabarovsk Territory and many other regions of Russia have been holding rallies in support of ex-governor Sergei Furgal. The procession on July 11 through the streets of Khabarovsk to the building of the regional government, according to various estimates, gathered from 5 to 35 thousand people. Until about July 18, the police almost did not interfere with the protesters. However, after that, the security forces began to detain protesters in Khabarovsk , Vladivostok , Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Krasnoyarsk , Moscow , Omsk and other cities.
  • The current governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, was detained on July 9 by FSB officers on suspicion of involvement in a number of contract killings. He was taken to Moscow, where, by decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, he was placed under a pre-trial detention center, where he is still being held. On July 20, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Furgal's resignation from the post of governor and appointed Mikhail Degtyarev, Furgal's fellow party member in the Liberal Democratic Party, to this post.
