More than 96 thousand Siberians fell ill with coronavirus

In the regions of Siberia, more than 2 thousand patients with coronavirus died. The total number of infected exceeded 96 thousand people.

A new coronavirus infection was detected in 590 residents of Siberia per day. The total number of infected reached 96,252 people, follows from the data of regional headquarters on August 27.

During the day, 24 patients died, including eight people in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, four in the Omsk Region, three each in the Irkutsk, Novosibirsk Regions and Altai Territory.

The total number of dead patients, according to Taiga.info, reached 2034.

Rosstat data shows that authorities do not always report coronavirus-related deaths. Most of all, the statistics could be underestimated in the Omsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions and Tuva.

About 975.5 thousand cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia, 16804 patients died, about 792 thousand people recovered. In terms of incidence of coronavirus, Russia ranks fourth, behind the United States, Brazil and India.
