In Kuzbass, 19 administrative cases were opened against protesters against a coal loading station

19 administrative cases were initiated against activists who oppose the construction of a coal-loading station near the village of Cheremza, Kemerovo Region. OVD-Info was told about this by Alexei Chispiyakov, an activist from Kemerovo.

Chispiyakov himself was sent two subpoenas, one of which was related to the August 13 action. Then, in the village of Cheremza, Kemerovo region, was dispersed a camp of eco-activists opposed to the coal loading station of the Kuznetsky Yuzhny open pit , and three people were detained. According to Chispiyakov, two pensioners were released, and the detained man was sentenced to a day of administrative arrest.

Some activists are charged with participation in an uncoordinated rally on August 18. The security forces consider the recording of a video message from environmental activists to the owner of the Kuznetsky Yuzhny open pit with a demand not to violate the law at Cheremza's as an uncoordinated action. A few days later, videographer Vyacheslav Krechetov was fined 20 thousand rubles under the article on organizing an uncoordinated action (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and 1,000 rubles under the article on disobedience to the lawful order of a representative of the authorities (article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Krechetov was twice left overnight before trial at the police station.

• On August 21, the governor of the Kemerovo region canceled a permit for the construction of a coal loading station due to the lack of dialogue between representatives of the Kuznetsky Yuzhny coal mining company and local residents. Protests by residents of Cheremza and nearby villages against the construction of a coal mine in Cheremza and a coal loading site near the Tomusinskaya railway station on agricultural land began in the fall of 2019. But in the spring of 2020, heavy construction equipment appeared at the site of the proposed work.
• On August 28, a court in Myski, Kemerovo Region, fined five local activists to fines of 25,000 rubles each, protesting against the coal mining methods of the Sibanthracite company. They were found guilty of blocking the road (Article 20.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). One of the measures of psychological pressure during the trial, activist Chispiyakov called the fact that there were an unprecedented number of police officers near the court building, among which were employees of the Center "E", and the last of the activists left his meeting at half past one in the night.
