A new coronavirus infection was detected in 625 residents of Siberia per day. The total number of infected reached 97,487 people, follows from the data of regional and federal operational headquarters on August 29.
During the day, 22 patients died. Six victims each - in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Altai Territory, five - in the Omsk Region, two - in Novosibirsk, one each - in Buryatia, Tomsk Region and Khakassia.

Rosstat data shows that authorities do not always report coronavirus-related deaths. Most of all, the statistics could be underestimated in the Omsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk regions and Tuva.
About 985.34 thousand cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia, 17025 patients died, about 804 thousand people recovered. In terms of incidence of coronavirus, Russia ranks fourth, behind the United States, Brazil and India.
