The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg fined local resident Nikolai Ulitin 10 thousand rubles because of a poster in support of Khabarovsk residents. Ulitin’s lawyer, lawyer Andrei Shchukin, told OVD-Info about this.
Nikolai Ulitin was found guilty under the article on organizing a public event without filing a notification (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) due to the fact that on August 1 he hung a poster on a van. In addition to Shchukin, he was defended by lawyer Roman Kachanov.
On August 1, rallies of solidarity with Khabarovsk protesters took place in dozens of cities, including Yekaterinburg. In total, according to OVD-Info, 70 people were detained in 14 cities. OVD-Info was online , publishing lists of detainees and text on the results of the actions.
- Since July 11, residents of the Khabarovsk Territory have been holding actions in support of Governor Sergei Furgal. The procession on July 11 through the streets of Khabarovsk to the building of the regional government, according to various estimates, gathered from 5 to 35 thousand people. Until about July 18, the police almost did not interfere with the protesters. However, after this, security forces began to detain participants in the protests in Khabarovsk , Vladivostok , Komsomolsk-on-Amur and other cities.
- Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal was detained on July 9 as part of a criminal case under article of murder. The next day, Furgal was sent to a pre-trial detention center until September, Mediazona reported . According to the prosecution, the official organized the murders and attempted murders of entrepreneurs in 2004–2005, when he himself was engaged in business. The Moscow City Court rejected an appeal against Furgal's arrest.
