
In the Murmansk region, a criminal case was opened against the director of the Arkhangelsk metal-processing plant "Ascon" Lyudmila Palchenko. She is suspected of fraud, as a result of which the Russian Ministry of Defense suffered damage in the amount of 61 million rubles. According to investigators, in December 2017, a state contract was concluded between the Ministry of Defense and the MPZ "Askon" to dispose of two destroyers. The contract prescribed that the plant should transfer the funds received from the sale of the metal into the income of the federal budget. However, after the sale of metal for 63.9 million rubles, only 2.9 million rubles were received to the budget.
