In the Novgorod region, two settlements of the end of the 1st millennium era were found, which was previously unknown, writes Interfax with reference to the head of the expedition Elena Toropov.

Researchers discovered two mound groups near the village of Kakovka in the Poddorsky district. Another Slavic village was found in the lower reaches of the Msta River.

Archaeologists have discovered ceramics at the excavation sites. According to Toropova, the expedition will continue reconnaissance work.
