President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko overtook Vladimir Putin in the ranking of the most mentioned people in August according to Interfax's Comprehensive News Analysis System (SCAN). In the Russian political and economic media, Lukashenka's name was mentioned 285,000 times in a month, while Putin's - only 259,000.

The last time, according to SCAN, Putin lost ground in the rating of mention in Russian media was only in January 2017, when Donald Trump, who became the 45th president of the United States, headed the top 10 media personalities.

On social networks (according to a study by Medialogy), Putin lost in June 2019 to the then-arrested journalist Ivan Golunov. But, as a rule, in the Russian media and networks, Putin's name occupies the first line.

This August, Trump is in third place in terms of mentions in the Russian media (88.8 thousand times).
In fourth place is politician Alexei Navalny, who was allegedly poisoned, as a result of which he fell into a coma and is still in serious condition in the German clinic "Charite". The name of Navalny was mentioned in the media 60.3 thousand times.
The fifth position of the rating was taken by the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin (57.6 thousand links), the sixth - the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky (51.6 thousand), the seventh - Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin (43.1 thousand).
The top 10 also includes the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko and the US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Joseph Biden.
