The Arbitration Court of Bashkiria, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, seized the shares of the Bashkir Soda Company (BSC), and also prohibited the Register from making any changes to the register of BSC shareholders.
As stated in the release of the court, the court considered the claim filed by the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia on the recovery of state property from the BSC. This property in the form of ordinary shares is in their illegal possession, and the prosecutor's office asks "to write off the shares from the personal account of these organizations and credit them to the personal account of the Federal Property Management Agency."
We are talking about blocks of shares owned by the defendants in the case: Bashkir Chemistry JSC (947.24 thousand shares), Bashkir Regional Fund JSC (634.174 thousand) and Trading House Bashkir Chemistry LLC (4.254 thousand) .
On August 28, the Prosecutor General's Office announced that it had checked the legality of the privatization of the Bashkir Soda Company, as a result of which the state lost control over it, and found violations. “The transfer of rights to these property complexes was made against the will of the Russian Federation,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement. Earlier, Vladimir Putin asked to find out why the state lost control in the BSC.
Joint Stock Company Bashkir Soda Company is the leader in the production of soda ash and baking soda in Russia. The main shareholder of BSK is Bashkhim. He controls 57.18% of the shares through the Cypriot Modissana Limited of former deputy governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Sergey Chernikov and businessman Dmitry Pyatkin.
