The municipal deputy was fined due to the inscription with chalk on the asphalt "Freedom to Vladimir Vorontsov"

The judge of the Tver district court appointed a fine of 10 thousand rubles to the municipal deputy Levon Smirnov, the inscription on the asphalt “Freedom to Vladimir Vorontsov”. This was told by a lawyer from the ATS-Info Elena Makarova.

The municipal deputy of the Academic District was detained on August 20 by the building of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Petrovka 38. He was taken to the Police of Tverskaya police, where they drew up a protocol under the article on violation of the increased readiness regime (part 1 of article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

In the protocol, the police indicated that Levon Smirnov “personally wrote with white and yellow chalk on the asphalt the inscription,“ Freedom to Vladimir Vorontsov, ”that is, held a public event - a picket, attracting the attention of citizens, the media and bloggers.” According to the police, since the pickets are prohibited in accordance with the mayor’s decree on the high readiness regime, Smirnov violated article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The court refused to call police officers as witnesses and did not attach a video of the detention, shot by the deputy to the case. On the record, the lawyer Makarova explained, it was clearly visible that there was no one from among Smirnov from among the citizens, the media and bloggers, whose attention he could attract.

Makarova also noted that in the protocol, the police referred to two non -existent points of the mayor. Smirnov and his defense explained to the court that the deputy did not conduct a picket: the legislation does not provide for picket in the form of an inscription on asphalt.

Despite the arguments of the defense, the judge considered that Smirnov’s fault was confirmed by the protocol, reports and explanations of the police, and set a fine of 10 thousand rubles.

• As of August, Vorontsov’s defenders report fourteen episodes in the persecution: two cases under article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“extortion”), three more under Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“illegal production and circulation of pornographic materials”), one thing under part 2 of article 128.1 of the Criminal Code (“slander”), according to which the statute of limitations has already come out, and eight more cases under Art. 319 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("insulting representatives of power").
