In Omsk there are public hearings on the transformation of the regional dendrological garden named after Genze. Now it is a unique green zone in the city center with the status of a natural monument of regional significance.
In June of this year, officials proposed separating almost half of the territory from him. The authorities believe that now the site looks neglected and want to improve it, turning it into a natural recreational complex of regional significance "Old Zagorod". This plan is alarming eco -activists: they are afraid that in the future the land can simply be given under development.

In connection with quarantine in the conference hall of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the region, only a small number of participants were allowed to pass. Some of the activists with posters remained on the street, about 40 more people crowded in a cramped hall, demanding to miss them for hearings, a Siberia correspondent reports from the scene.
The security and employees of the department went to the activists and said that the hall does not allow everyone to accommodate, in addition, the building remains in the number of people in the room due to coronavirus.
“Have you read the law? Everyone can participate in public hearings. You invited who in the hall? Those who are lobbying for the interests of the developers? Shame! We want to personally ask questions,” people were indignant. They suggested holding hearings in the lobby or on the street.
However, despite the persistence of those who came, they did not let anyone into the hall. After 20 minutes, the Minister of Nature Ilya Lobov himself came out to reassure people. He insisted that there is no question of any building-residential, commercial, socially business. On the territory, according to the official, there are no valuable breeds, so they decided to land and place it for recreational purposes and temporary buildings for the rest of the townspeople.

At the same time, there is no project for the development of the territory itself, but the hearing, according to the authorities, is still necessary, since the current security regime excludes this kind of improvement and, especially reconstruction. Therefore, the status of the territory must be "reduced".
“We saw how it starts with three percent, and ends with the destruction of the entire territory! Came your criminal procedure!”, The people began to demand. When Lobov left, the audience began to chant: "We came to hearings."
The position of social activists was voiced at the hearings by ecologist Sergei Kostarev: "It is categorically impossible to separate this territory. Transfer of part of the land into a new status, which allows the development of the territory by non -capital buildings, will completely destroy the natural complex." He proposed to create an observation authority where scientists, specialists, activists will enter, and jointly develop a strategy for the development of the park as a natural monument, while maintaining its current status.
Activists intend to file a collective lawsuit in court on the recognition of these hearings invalid. In addition, they collected signatures with a demand to maintain the integrity of the selection.
