Activists of the “indefinite protest” accused of vandalism have had their ban on certain actions extended

The Tverskoy District Court extended until October 7 a ban on certain actions against "indefinite protest" activists Olga Misik, Ivan Vorobyevsky and Igor Basharimov, accused of vandalism. This is reported by the coordinator of legal assistance OVD-Info Anna Romashchenko.

The activists' lawyers asked to change the measure of restraint for the accused to a written undertaking not to leave the country. Due to the ban on certain actions, Olga Misik cannot attend classes at Moscow State University - she must return home no later than 17:00. Basharimov, who, according to the ban, must be at the place of registration, in Arkhangelsk, is forced to pay for constant trips to Moscow for trials and interrogations. At the same time, due to the ban on the use of the Internet, Basharimov is deprived of a source of income - he works in the IT field.

As part of the preventive measure, until September 7, inclusive, the activists were forbidden to go outside from 17:00 to 9:00 without the written permission of the interrogating officer, to approach the buildings of state authorities by 10 meters, attend public events and use means of communication.

The activists are accused of vandalism committed by a group of persons (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code) in connection with a rally near the Prosecutor General's Office: on the night of August 8, unidentified persons poured pink paint over the building of the Office and hung out a banner.

The interests of the activists were represented by lawyers from OVD-Info Dmitry Zakhvatov, Sergey Telnov and Elena Sheremetyeva.

The detainees were taken to the Tverskoy police department, interrogated and sent to a temporary detention facility. On August 10, the court appointed a ban on certain actions as a measure of restraint for all the defendants in the case.
