
The leadership of the basketball Euroleague approved the venue for the "final of the four" season-2020/21 German city of Cologne. The decisive stage of the tournament will be held on May 28-30, 2021 in the arena, which accommodates more than 18 thousand spectators.
Cologne will become the second German city after Berlin, which in the 21st century will accept the “final of four” Euroleague. In the capital of Germany, the final took place in 2009 and 2016.
Initially, Cologne in May was supposed to accept the final part of the 2019/20 season, but the tournament was decided to complete a prematurely due to the pandemic of coronavirus.
“Holding the first“ final of four ”in this decade in a magnificent arena in a large city that does not have a team in the Euroleague shows how we are devoted to the business of attracting new fans,” the press service of the Euroleague President Jordi Bertomou quotes.
