Pro-Ukrainian activist's detention period extended

A court in Rostov-on-Don has extended the detention of Oleg Prikhodko, a pro-Ukrainian activist accused of plotting terrorist attacks, by three months. This was reported on September 7 by the Krym.Realii portal.

currently Prikhodko, who lived in the Crimea, is in Rostov-on-Don, in pre-trial detention center No. 1. His case is being considered by the Southern District Military Court located in this city. Lawyer Nazim Sheikhmambetov, referred to by the portal, suggests that Prikhodko's sentence can be passed within a month.

Earlier, the lawyer reported that from the interrogation of the FSB officers and the witness in court, it follows that during the search Prikhodko was planted with a flash drive and a phone.

• Oleg Prikhodko was detained in October 2019 and charged with making explosives and preparing for a terrorist attack. According to the investigation, he assembled a home-made bomb to blow up the administration building of the city of Saki, “in order to influence the authorities of Crimea so that they make a decision on joining Crimea to Ukraine.” In early 2020, it became known that Prikhodko accused was also of acquiring and storing explosives, and then of preparing to set fire to the Russian consulate in Lvov.
• After being transported to Rostov, Prikhodko developed pain in the kidneys, as he was being transported for 16 hours in a half-bent position.
