Holy Martyr Alexy Budrin

Alexey Budrin was born in 1861. In 1882 he graduated from the Perm Theological Seminary and in the same year was ordained a priest to the church in the village of Syrinsky Perm province. Later he was translated by the Kluchar of the Trinity Cathedral of the city of Krasnoufimsk. He served as a law teacher in local educational institutions.

In 1909, he was appointed rector of the Krasnoufim Cathedral and elevated to the rank of Archpriest. At the same time, he was a member of the School Council, a member of the pedagogical councils of the female gymnasium and the industrial school, where he was a law teacher.

From 1912 to 1917 he was a deputy of the Duma, a member of the Nationalist faction. In the Duma, he acted as a consistent opponent of the revolution and the defender of Russian interests.

He was killed in August 1918 in the village of Kamensky Plant. During mass repressions in the Perm Territory, the Red Army shot Archpriest Alexy and stabbed with bayonets.
