A search was conducted at the premises of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Lipetsk region. He was summoned for questioning by the FSB

On September 4, in Yelets, Lipetsk region, a search was conducted at the home of Jehovah's Witness Sergei Tishkov. The website “Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia” reports this.

Six law enforcement officers participated in the search, according to the website. During the investigation, security forces looked through the electronic devices of Tishkov and his family members, and also copied data from the computer’s hard drive.

On September 7, it became known that the believer was summoned for questioning as a witness at the FSB headquarters located in Lipetsk.

• In December 2019, an FSB investigator opened a criminal case under the article on participation in the activities of an extremist organization (Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Criminal Code) against Jehovah’s Witnesses from the Lipetsk region Viktor Bachurin, Alexander Kostrov and Artur Netreba. The believers were soon detained and taken into custody in a pre-trial detention center.
• In February 2020, during a meeting on the issue of extending the preventive measure for Bachurin, Kostrov and Netrebe, police officers collected passports from the students and returned them along with subpoenas for questioning.
• On April 20, 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the “Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia” as an extremist organization, liquidated it and banned its activities in Russia. In August, all Jehovah's Witnesses organizations were added to the list of prohibited organizations. After this, a stream of criminal cases against representatives of the confession began. In February 2019, the court handed down its first sentence with real imprisonment - Danish citizen Dennis Christensen was sentenced to six years in prison, his complaint was accepted for consideration by the ECHR.
