More than 8% of Irkutsk residents came to the gubernatorial elections

In the Irkutsk region, more than 8% voted in the gubernatorial elections. The main voting day will take place on 13 September.

The number of voters in the region as of July 1 is 1.85 million. Thus, about 8.1% came to the polling stations.

On September 11-12, early voting takes place. The main day will take place on September 13, which is when, according to opposition candidates, voters should go to the polling stations to minimize the danger of their vote being stolen.

The Kremlin-appointed acting governor Igor Kobzev (self-nominated with the support of United Russia) and State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Mikhail Shchapov are fighting for the post. Andrey Dukhovnikov (LDPR), Larisa Egorova (Fair Russia) and Gennady Shchadov (CPSU) also take part in them.
