The Southern District Military Court sentenced Ingush resident Zhareidat Evloeva to two years in prison for a 2015 publication in which she allegedly justified the actions of Islamic terrorists who attacked the editorial office of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo. Evloeva was found guilty under the article on justifying terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), but was released from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for prosecution.
According to investigators, Yevloyeva published a post on a social network in which she justified the attack on the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo. French authorities have declared the attack a terrorist act.
