Interfax reported on a criminal case of incitement to suicide of Maxim Martsinkevich. The UK denies this

Updated . The Department of the Investigative Committee for the Chelyabinsk region did not confirm the information about the initiation of a case into the death of Maxim Martsinkevich. Lawyers for the family of the deceased also said that they did not receive relevant notifications from the UK.

The Investigative Committee of the Chelyabinsk Region opened a case of incitement to suicide following the death in a pre-trial detention center of Maxim Martsinkevich (Tesak). This is reported by Interfax with reference to a source.

The interlocutor of the agency explained that after the death of Martsinkevich, a posthumous psychological and psychiatric forensic examination was appointed, which is not provided for without a criminal case.

The agency does not have official confirmation of this information.

• Martsinkevich was found dead in a cell in a pre-trial detention center in Chelyabinsk on September 16. The Investigative Committee appointed a pre-investigation check, the department said that it did not see the criminal causes of Martsinkevich's death.
