Participants in COVID-19 vaccine trials were insured for 2 million rubles each. This is how much the heirs will receive if the volunteer dies

Participants in trials of the domestic COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik-V received insurance policies stating that in the event of a volunteer’s death, his heirs would be paid 2 million rubles. The insurer was the Capital Life Insurance company, Open Media reports.

If during the tests a volunteer receives the first disability group, he can qualify for a payment of 1.5 million rubles, in the case of receiving the second and third groups - 1 million and 500 thousand rubles, respectively. If the test participant’s health deteriorates, but not so much that he becomes disabled, then the maximum insurance payment will reach 300 thousand rubles.

Recommendations have appeared for participants in clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine. The document states that women are not recommended to become pregnant, breastfeed or become an egg donor for three months after vaccination. Those who become pregnant will be immediately excluded from vaccination and will be placed under observation.

Men are advised to avoid conceiving a child and not donate sperm for artificial insemination during the trial and for three months afterwards.
