The court in Moscow arrested for 10 days the executive director of Open Russia

The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow arrested for 10 days Andrei Pivovarov, the executive director of Open Russia, due to the popular gathering against the change in the Constitution on July 1. This was reported by a member of the "Postcards" Alexander menu.

The court found Pivovarov guilty under the article on the organization of an inconsistent action (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). “The event of a sane offense is the posting of a post in the telegram channel“ Pivovars containing “calls to an indefinite circle of persons to participate in the mass public event on disagreement with amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the non-recognition of the results of all-Russian vote,” said Oleg Eliseev, lawyer Pivovarov.

Andrei Pivovarov was detained the day before at the exit from the special receptionist, where he was serving 14 days of arrest, and left in the police department for the night.

The court found him guilty of organizing an event that entailed the creation of interference with infrastructure and transport (part 3 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
On July 15, 2020, in a number of cities, shares were planned against amendments to the Constitution, which entered into force on July 4, giving new powers to the president and allowing Vladimir Putin to again claim this post in 2024.
