It included 13 films created by filmmakers from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Great Britain, Israel, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Romania, Turkey and South Korea.

According to the program director of the MMKF Kirill Razdogov, this year a large number of Russian paintings and films from near abroad are included in the program. “The miracle that the festival will take place, the miracle, that it will pass in person,” said Razlogov.
The 42nd Moscow International Film Festival was originally planned to be held in the spring, but due to the pandemic of Coronavirus Covid-19, the organizers decided to transfer it to the fall. The festival will be held from October 1 to 8. At the opening, a debut full -length film directed by Mikhail Lokshin “Silver Skates” will be presented.

The jury of the main competition included the director, producer and screenwriter Timur Bekmambetov (chairman, Russia), producer and director Alexander Yordescu (Romania-Switzerland), film critic Brian Vainer (Great Britain), writer, journalist, director and producer Mahmoud Soliman (Egypt) and actress Marina Alexandrova (Russia).
The competition of short films will be judged by producer Marina Zhigalova (Russia), director, journalist and producer Elena Khazanova (Switzerland) and director Gais Davis (UK).
