MMKF announced a competitive program

Today, September 21, the competition program of the Moscow International Film Festival of 2020 has become known. It included 13 films created by filmmakers from Azerbaijan, Brazil, Great Britain, Israel, India, Kazakhstan, Russia, Romania, Turkey and South Korea.

This was reported by TASS with reference to the director of public relations between the MMKF Pyotr Shepotinnik.

The competitive program is published on the MMKF website :

• "In the shade" ( Gölgler ̇çinde , Turkey, 2020) dir. Erdem Tepegez;
• "Hypnosis" (Russia, 2020), dir. Valery Todorovsky;
• "Daughter of a fisherman" (Azerbaijan-Russia, 2020), dir. Ishmael Safarali;
• “Like cheese in oil” ( Katzefet Ve Duvdevanim , Israel, 2019), dir. Hood Benvtich;
• "Melody of the string tree" (Russia, 2020). dir. Irina Evteeva;
• “On distant borders” (Russia, 2020) dir. Maxim Dashkin;
• "Emergency Campaign" ( The Campaign , Romania, 2019), dir. Marian Krishan;
• "Order" ( Medida Provisória , Brazil, 2020), dir. Lazaro Ramos;
• "Dissolve" ( Dissolve , Kazakhstan-Yuzhnaya Korea, 2020), dir. Kim Ki Duk;
• "Fate" (Kazakhstan, 2020), dir. Zhanna Issabaeva;
• "Hilda" ( Hilda , Great Britain, 2019), dir. Rishi Pelem.

According to the program director of the MMKF Kirill Razdogov, this year a large number of Russian paintings and films from near abroad are included in the program. “The miracle that the festival will take place, the miracle, that it will pass in person,” said Razlogov.

The 42nd Moscow International Film Festival was originally planned to be held in the spring, but due to the pandemic of Coronavirus Covid-19, the organizers decided to transfer it to the fall. The festival will be held from October 1 to 8. At the opening, a debut full -length film directed by Mikhail Lokshin “Silver Skates” will be presented.

The jury of the main competition included the director, producer and screenwriter Timur Bekmambetov (chairman, Russia), producer and director Alexander Yordescu (Romania-Switzerland), film critic Brian Vainer (Great Britain), writer, journalist, director and producer Mahmoud Soliman (Egypt) and actress Marina Alexandrova (Russia).

The competition of short films will be judged by producer Marina Zhigalova (Russia), director, journalist and producer Elena Khazanova (Switzerland) and director Gais Davis (UK).
