The Internet Encyclopedia "Wikipedia" will receive a number of updates to the appearance of a web version, which has not changed over the past 10 years. This was reported in the blog of the non -profit organization Wikimedia Foundation, which controls Wikipedia.
The web versions redesign plans were explained by the need to make the site more convenient for new users. On a separate page, the developers also demonstrated some of the planned changes. In particular, in the new design an additional menu of the sections of the readable article will appear, which will not scroll the page to the beginning for navigation between them. In addition, the developers will refuse the left column with a large number of links that distract attention. The possibility of switching between different languages will be significantly simplified.
Wikimedia Foundation said that the planned changes will be introduced gradually, after testing. It is expected that the redsign web version will end by the end of 2021.
