A historian who came to support his colleague on appeal was detained at the Supreme Court of Karelia

Historian Anatoly Razumov, who came to support his colleague Yuri Dmitriev on appeal, was detained near the Supreme Court of Karelia. This was reported on the twitter of the "International Memorial".

Razumov was detained while talking to journalists and showing them a poster he had brought with him. He was taken to Police Department No. 2 of Petrozavodsk, with his defense lawyer Marina Artamonova.

14:05 The police obtained a video of Razumov at the court, but without the journalists interviewing him. The police considered him evidence of an offense, refused to let the historian leave the department and are trying to draw up an administrative protocol against him.

14:35 A protocol was drawn up against Anatoly Razumov under an article on violation by the organizer of the procedure for holding a public event (part 1 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to an interview with journalists, during which Razumov showed them a poster. This was reported to OVD-Info by public defender Marina Artamonova. The historian refused to sign the protocol, he was released.

• Since September 16, the Supreme Court of Karelia has been considering complaints from the defense and charges against the sentence of historian Yuri Dmitriev. The prosecution asks to increase the sentence to 13 years in a strict regime colony.
• On July 22, the court found Dmitriev guilty under the article on violent acts of a sexual nature against his minor adopted daughter (clause “b” part 4 of article 132 of the Criminal Code). He was acquitted under articles on indecent acts (part 3 of article 135 of the Criminal Code), on the production of pornography (art. 242.2 of the Criminal Code) and on possession of weapons (part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code) he was acquitted . He was sentenced to three years in prison, but taking into account the time served in the pre-trial detention center, Dmitriev should be released in November.
• Yuri Dmitriev is the head of the Karelian society "Memorial" and one of the pioneers of the execution pits of the victims of Stalin's repressions in the Sandormokh forest. In August 2018, excavations were carried out there by the Russian Military Historical Society, headed by the then Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky. The purpose of these excavations was to confirm the hypothesis that Soviet prisoners of war who were in Finnish camps were buried in Sandarmokh.
