In Vologda, the defender of the square on Yaroslavskaya Street, Irina Yovzhiy, was detained. She was held at the police station for three hours without charge. She reported this to the OVD-Info hotline.
The activist was taken to police station No. 1 in Vologda because of a complaint filed by a lawyer for a company that is building up her yard. They took explanations from Yovzhiy and seized personal belongings, including a gas cartridge, under the protocol.
According to the statement, the defender of the square used a spray can against several men at the construction site. According to Yovzhiy, she sprayed it out of extreme necessity in self-defense, as the men used force on her.
Lawyer Roman Morozov was allowed to see Irina Yovzhiy at the police station. After an explanation and seizure of the pepper spray, Yovzhiy was released.
