Netflix in Russia raised the age rating of several children's projects to 18+

They were excluded from the children's section of the service.

The Russian segment of Netflix eliminated several animated series from the children's section and raised their age rating to 18+. Attention to this was paid attention to the activist Mikhail Samin.

From the category of For Kids, the projects “Kipo and the Era of Wonderful Beasts”, “Shi-ra and the Invincible Princesses”, “Prince-Decon” and “Universe of Stephen” were excluded, writes DTF.

These animated series are not shown in the search if you use a children's account, but they can be found from a regular profile. All projects have a marking 18+. Usually, in such cases, at the beginning of reproduction, a dile with an explanation appears, which is why the rating is set, but in the case of these cartoons there is no such thing. For example, “Shi-ra and invincible princesses” in different countries are proposed to watch from the ages of six to 12 years, in Singapore-from the age of 18.

At the same time, the puppet series “The Dark Crystal: Resistance Age” retained the 7+ rating in Russia, despite the presence of secondary LGBT characters. The rating of the series “Sabrin's Blinding Soul” and “Damned” raised from 16+ to 18+.

From October 15, Netflix will transfer calculations with users from Russia into rubles. The announcement of the launch of the Russian version of Streaming appeared in early September. The Netflix service will develop the Netflix service together with the National Media Group, the Ren-TV, the Fifth Canal, which owns the share of Channel One and the STS Media.
