A case was opened against a Belgorod resident for justifying terrorism in connection with a comment on VK about Breivik

The FSB Directorate for the Belgorod Region opened a criminal case against Belgorod resident Oleg Matveenko to justify terrorism in connection with a four-year-old comment on VKontakte about Anders Breivik. This is reported by Navalny's headquarters in Belgorod and the Mediazona publication , citing Matveenko's lawyer.

31-year-old Belgorod citizen Matveenko was detained by the FSB on September 11 at about 11 am. At the same time, they hit him in the face, twisted his hands behind his back and put him in a car on his knees to other employees of the department. On the way, they twisted his leg, demanding to answer questions.

The FSB officers threatened Matveenko to sign a confession - “they threatened that they would take away my business, threatened my parents, threatened that they would take me out for further reprisals, [that] they would put me in a cell where they abused me and so on,” the Belgorodite told the channel "Navalny's headquarters in Belgorod". Matveyenko emphasized that he did not leave a comment, because of which the case was opened, but he was not allowed to add anything “on his own behalf” to the text dictated by the security forces.

The case of justifying terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), according to Mediazona, was initiated because of a comment under the publication in the Atheist group, in which Breivik was compared to the Muslim who killed the director Theo van Gogh. A comment about Breivik's heroism was written by user "Oleg Nesterov" in October 2016. Both the account and this comment were subsequently deleted.
