A participant in protests against the persecution of Sergei Furgal was once again detained in Khabarovsk

Police officers in Khabarovsk detained Vladislav Zhuk on the street, who participated in actions against the arrest of the former regional governor Sergei Furgal. Zhuk himself reported this to OVD-Info.

The man was taken to police department No. 4 on Pankova Street. There, a protocol was drawn up against him regarding participation in an uncoordinated action that interfered with the operation of the infrastructure (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). The other day he was also detained, after which he was fined ten thousand rubles under the same article.

After some time, Zhuk stopped communicating. He is likely to be kept overnight until the trial, since the charge against him may imply arrest.

October 2, 10:20 . Vladislav Zhuk was taken to the Central District Court of Khabarovsk, where he was sentenced to 7 days of arrest under the article on participation in an uncoordinated action that interfered with the operation of infrastructure (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). The defense was carried out by lawyer from OVD-Info Andrei Bityutsky.

• Since July 11, in the Khabarovsk Territory and other regions of the country, rallies have been held in support of the arrested ex-governor Sergei Furgal. Until approximately July 18, the police made almost no attempts to prevent the protesters, but later law enforcement officers began to detain protesters and initiate administrative cases against them in Khabarovsk , Vladivostok , Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Yekaterinburg , Chelyabinsk , Voronezh , Sochi , Perm , Irkutsk , Novosibirsk and others cities.
• On July 9, the then-current governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergei Furgal, was detained by FSB officers on suspicion of involvement in a number of contract killings. He was taken to Moscow, where he was placed in custody. On July 20, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Furgal’s resignation from the post of governor and appointed Furgal’s LDPR party member Mikhail Degtyarev to this post as acting. In early September, Furgal’s arrest was extended for three months, the meeting was held behind closed doors.
