In Moscow, activists Elena and Ivan Kotenov were detained during a picket dedicated to the crisis of power in Kalmykia. This was reported to OVD-Info by Elena Katenova.
“We have fires, dust storms, locusts, people are starving. We went out with a picket, because fellow countrymen in Kalmykia turned to us, they said: “At least somehow pay attention [to problems in the republic],” Kotenova says. As the activist notes, the poster did not show “anything that could discredit the authorities.”
The couple picketed on Manezhnaya Square. The detainees were taken to the Kitai-Gorod police station. They haven't been charged with anything yet.
18:02 Kotenova was released from the police department with a protocol on participation in an unapproved action (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This is reported by the "Apology of Protest".
