The court again did not select a jury in the case of the Khachaturian sisters

The Moscow City Court again did not select jurors to participate in the consideration of the criminal case of the Khachaturian sisters, accused of killing their father, because the victims fell ill with the coronavirus. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the court.

Due to the fact that the entire family of the deceased Mikhail Khachaturian became infected with the coronavirus and was forced to observe quarantine, the jury selection was postponed until November 5.

The first selection of the jury was scheduled for August 31 and also did not take place . The victims at that time had already contracted the coronavirus and did not appear in court.

The case of the Khachaturian sisters - Angelina, Christina and Maria - began in July 2018. They are accused of murder by a group of persons by prior conspiracy. Other members of the Khachaturian family were recognized as victims.

The defense alleges that the girls acted in necessary self-defense after being beaten, beaten and sexually abused by their father. Studies assigned by the UK confirmed that mental disorders appeared in girls due to father's violence.

At the same time, materials regarding the younger sister Maria were separated from the main case, since she was recognized by experts as insane. The investigation considered that she needed compulsory treatment. The case of Maria will be considered by the Butyrsky Court of Moscow behind closed doors.
