On October 3, the ninth anniversary of the death of lawyer Yukos Vasily Aleksanyan was fulfilled, who was kept in prison as a man who prevented the robbery of Yukos. They kept it, despite the fact that he was mortally ill. They didn’t treat the deal in return: you are testimonies to us, and we are to the hospital (listen to Aleksanyan’s speech in the Supreme Court - it is now forever in history). He was released for freedom to die, and under the mocking a huge bail. He lived at free for 2.5 years. And left at 39.

... Spring 2006 for Yukos turned out to be the most difficult. The company still existed, but it was already a Titanic at the stage of half -loading to the ocean. The arbitration court introduced bankruptcy proceedings in Yukos and appointed a close “Rosneft” there, temporary manager Eduard Rebgun. The main leadership was sitting, middle -sized employees were arrested, people quit, who could afford - they left the country. Some employees still remained in the company, but they carried out the main working hours not in offices, but at interrogations in the Prosecutor General. Yes, and the Yukos’s offices themselves, as to work, with the searches, the employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office, headed by investigator Tatyana Rusanova, who loved to study the tablets on the offices with the words: “Oh, someone sits here sits here?”

For a long time not sitting in any office of Yukos Aleksanyan, knowing or not knowing, at that moment he voluntarily climbed into the loop. In early 2006, an idea came up to him, which brought all his acquaintances and friends to extreme confusion. He decided to take the post of executive vice president of Yukos and thereby, as he planned, to try the competent steps of the lawyer to save the company from destruction. Not that one of his friends and colleagues doubted his professionalism, energy and talent.

Most likely, he would be able to save the company, but on one condition - if the events unfolded in a country where the court as an institution of law still works, and opponents play according to the rules.

But the opponents were with some indecent gangster habits, and the court gradually ceased to exist. And it seems to everyone it was already obvious. Except for some reason Vasily.

“Vasya, yes you are awesome,” Anton Drill directly told him and advised him to leave the country.

But Aleksanyan was not going to go anywhere, he could not imagine life in exile for himself. He already, in 2003, after the arrest of the leadership, left for London, when he was told that he was personally hung over him. But two months later, he returned, telling his friends that “this is not mine” and “there is bored there.” Still - without the usual environment, without parents and interesting work. But the environment and work in their homeland by a rapid pace were subjected to fateful changes. What remained unchanged is the character of Aleksanyan: if he drove something into his head, it was unrealistic to convince him. The company’s problems, arrests, emigration, “Baikalfinance groups” (this Shuler auction, arranged by Rosneft with the aim of withdrawing the main oil company Yukos - Yuganskneftegaz) growing as a snowball, are growing as a snowy com. They were driven by the desire to get involved in the struggle, to defend Yukos and its employees. Back in 2003, having returned from that forced “boring” link, he first will ask him to take him into the team of defenders Platon Lebedev, then he will put a lawyer warrant in the MBH case. And when he was told “leave”, he did not understand: how to take everything and throw everything? How can I let the punks be pulled out? How can the best corporate legal department be ruined? The drill says that Vasily was then tuned in combat. He wanted to fight and win. Well, what to dissemble - Aleksanyan at the same time wanted to vocrate the yukos. By that time, there was no one to correct the crown by that time.

At that time, he enthusiastically told friends about Oleg Deripaska, whom he met and who seemed to express interest to participate in the bankruptcy of Yukos, which, according to Aleksanyan, somehow could help save the company. Aleksanyan had its own conspiracy version in my head: Deripaska is a member of the Yeltsin family (at that time), and if the family fits , then everything will turn out well.

“Not that Vasya was hoping for this very much,” the drill notes. - The fact that he came to a person of such a rank as Deripaska was important for him, and that this person said: “I am interested, let's discuss the conditions of cooperation.” Vasya believed that if Deripaska did not immediately reject him, then he signed up to somehow alleviate the fate of Yukos. I am sure that he promised Vasya nothing. Deripaska, apparently, was just curious to see what would come of it. ”

Nothing came of it.

“Since Vasya himself is honest, he believes that others are decent people. He asked for guarantees, Deripaska confirmed to him that the guarantees at the very top were taken. I would not believe Deripaska a priori, ”says Leonid Nevzlin. - And Vasya was another person. He really considered people initially good. And here were really bad people. And they set it up. I am not saying that Deripaska wanted Aleksanyan to get into prison. I think he just wanted Yukos, and he, by and large, did not care, with whom he was negotiating - Aleksanyan, not Aleksanyan. Nothing personal. "

At that time, Vasily's friends in thoughts (and not in thoughts too) spun a lot of non -parliamentary vocabulary when they listened to his ideas one after another. Only now he himself did not listen to anyone, although for some reason he consulted.

The main idea of ​​Aleksanyan was to change the structure of Yukos management. It was necessary to change this structure. By that time, the leadership of the “daughter” of Yukos-CJSC Yukos-RM-(which, I recall, managed the production assets of the entire holding) refused to obey the London office and did not hide its loyalty to Rosneft, de-facto and initiated bankruptcy of the company. Aleksanyan wanted to simplify the structure of Yukos so that this would make the decisions of the London office, bypassing the “daughters” of the “Rosneft” of the “Rosneft”.

“I don’t know, to be honest, how could you be sure that you will be able to do this in a situation where Yukos has already been taken to your hands and divided it in advance? Didn't he understand? - Pavel Ivlev asks the question. - Well, it was obvious that you could not escape the arrest in this situation. Well, how? They want to plant you for two years, but you’re sliding everything, you manage to carefully go around the corners, you remain at large ... By the time of his arrest, everyone who wanted and managed to leave, the light of Bakhmin, who was much lower than the rank of Vasya in the legal service, was planted. And then he, who left Yukos before everyone else, decided to return and save the company ... I don’t know, maybe Vasya believed that he would be able to do something so unimaginable, somehow resolve the situation. Although it was obvious that he had no chance. But this character is Vasin. He was a morally very strong person. I have met few of these - decisive, brave who know what they are doing. All that he did, he did consciously. At the same time, he could be mistaken, of course, but if something decided-everything, a point, it is impossible to change. Vasya is a person who has always risked. Throughout his life, he took on the risks that many people, including me, were not ready to take. ”

All winter and spring 2006, up to the very arrest, Aleksanyan spent evenings at home at Rudolf Mkhitaryan ( classmate and former subordinate to the legal administration of Yukos. - Ed. ), And each time the same dialogs were conducted there.

“Vasya, the idea with your executive vice presidentiality is beautiful, but we will be arrested right away,” said Mkhitaryan, who in those days, the investigator Rusanov called for interrogations.

“No, we will find moves, exits ...” Aleksanyan answered smellly, whose campaigns to the Prosecutor General seemed to be only erased.

- There Sichin, Vasya. Do you have a closer move closer than that of Sechin to Putin?

- No ... but you don't understand. Now we will show them ...

But Aleksanyan, it would seem, did not feel the danger absolutely. And his classmate Mkhitaryan only sighed. The determination of opponents and the risk of entering into an open and demonstrative confrontation then not only Aleksanyan's friends clearly recognized. Absurd, but relatively sensibly in that betrayal period, even investigators behaved. At one of the interrogations in March 2006, Rusanova will advise Aleksanyan “stay away” from Yukos. When he replies that he does not intend to refuse the vice president, she will say: “For the first time I see a person who voluntarily goes to prison.”

“No, well, listen, if they close me, then it will be clear to everyone then what a biased persecution it is and that“ they ”just want to pick up Yukos,” he told Anton Delly.

Anton was silent. Indeed, what else can you answer.

In short, Aleksanyan could not be stopped. According to the dramaturgy of the rooted at that time of Russian reality, he had to be in a pre -trial detention center. He kept his status as a lawyer for some time. But not for long. This status has never helped anyone in our country. Lawyers both planted and planted, and often - those who represent a large business and prevents it from robbing.

Aleksanyan was no longer 18 or even 25. He was 34. But he was still driven by youthful maximalism and vanity. Not everyone is given. He felt like a fighter in a situation where some employees were scared and left (he considered them traitors, about which the story later), while others were hostage in prison. Friends say that there was more than enough dubbing in it. And this sometimes he simply enraged them. From what such bowels he drew this wild maximalism, no one was unknown to anyone.

The status of an executive vice president of Yukos gave broad powers: Aleksanyan in his 34 could purely theoretically replace Khodorkovsky himself. The MBH himself believes that the campaign of Aleksanyan in Yukos was doomed.

“I think for Vasily, from the point of view of his personal, internal ambitions, of course, it was important at some point to become the chairman or president of the company. This is just a “arctic fox” how cool it was for him, ”says the MBH. - To become even on a sinking ship, but a captain. This is just such an oversking danger of boyish ambition ... regarding whether to occupy him or not to occupy the position of executive vice president of Yukos, he consulted with me. I already sat. A lawyer Anton Drill came to me in a pre -trial detention center, his old acquaintance, said that Vasily was asking: to become or not? In general, as a consistent liberal, people usually do not give people to do what to do with their own lives. I share some of my thoughts, and they make a choice themselves. Each person is the master of his fate. But in this particular case, I was so convinced that this is by no means necessary, that I voiced it very clearly for transferring to Vasily.

At that time, it was already clear: anyone who tries to put the barrier between property and the greedy Igor Ivanovich ( Sechin. - Ed. ), They will simply demolish.

It seemed to me that it was obvious to everyone. Didn't Vasily understand this sincerely? Don't know. He led some negotiations with someone, and he promised his support. I did not believe in this support, because I already understood the balance of power in the arena. And he believed. Although the decision -making process has already passed. Yukos was breeding. And I am convinced that his arrest is exclusively the Sechinsky initiative. By that time, Putin had already transferred the “Yukos case” to Sichin. And he did not ask the go -ahead further upstairs. ”

By the spring of 2006, the work of the Moscow Office of Yukos was paralyzed.

At the end of March, the arbitration process for the bankruptcy of the company began. By that time, Aleksanyan had already decided to take the position of executive vice president of Yukos. The legal administration prepared papers for signing. Mkhitaryan still has originals about the appointment ...

On April 1, the candidacy of Aleksanyan approved the board of directors. A few days later, he will collect a press conference at which he will report on plans to save the company. They say that this finally enjoyed Sechin.

“You just need to know Vasin a temper, image and style,” Anton Drill recalls those days. - He, having taken the position, immediately came to the then managers in Yukos, who collaborated with Rosneft, besides the Rebgun, and directly stated: “So, so. I am not against bankruptcy, but it should take place in the interests of all the shareholders of Yukos. You will steal - answer. " Even Vasya sat in the Khodorkovsky office. The image must be supported! They say that when all this was transferred to the Kremlin, they barked there: “Yes, you are fucked up at all?! Stop. " Close Vasya - it was, of course, the direct team of Sechin. I am confident in 200%. "

Shortly before the detention, Aleksanyan met with a drill in a cafe and, as it were, mentioned in between: "They call me for interrogation, something is dumb." “Come on, Vali,” Anton answered habitually. “I won’t go anywhere,” Vasily answered habitually, “they scare me.” If they wanted to arrest, they would have done it for a long time. ”

Drill: “I listened to him and thought: well, on the other hand, I also seemed to be called for interrogation, and it cost. Maybe, however, they scare him. After all, we slipped through the arrests in 2003-2004. Maybe now we’ll slip. I recall my 2003-2004: then the girls in the planes that I met, the compliments did: “What a brave you are, Anton, that you are not leaving.” Now I understand: I was not brave, but stupid. Quite stupid. I was just lucky. And Vasya was lucky in 2003. And in 2006 was no longer lucky. ”

... Anton Drill sat on the evening of April 5 in a cafe with French journalist Dolphin Tuyeno. She wrote a note about Krasnokamensk and Harp for France-Press, where Khodorkovsky and Lebedev were transferred. Anton talked about the life and morals of these places when a call from Aleksanyan rang out to the mobile: “I have a search at home. What do you think about it? " Anton really wanted to fall upon his friend, but at the lady he had to restrain himself: “Vasya, well, we met and spoke with you yesterday. What I think, you know - Vali! " - "Well, okay ..."

Before his detention, there were a day. During these hours, the chairman of the board of directors of Yukos Viktor Gerashchenko will call him and say: “Man, hold on, we must win.”
